Smooth Beginnings with 753 Matcha

 

 

Marlo’s Matcha is where playful nostalgia meets the ritual of matcha. But nostalgia, to us, isn’t about going back. It’s about remixing, reinventing and making the past a living material for new memories.

Our first brand shoot took place in Komazawa Park, Tokyo, a place built for the 1964 Olympics, now woven into the everyday rhythm of the city. On summer evenings, the park fills with skaters, cyclists, families and friends; a crossroads of movement, energy, and play. It felt like the perfect backdrop for our first chapter.

Instead of neat product shots, we leaned fully into lifestyle. Our launch campaign, How Smooth is Too Smooth, takes smoothness beyond the cup. Smooth isn’t only about the matcha, it’s about conversation, style, and moments that glide as easily as they surprise.

Dressed in early-2000s details — jorts, Vans, a polo & rugby shirt, skinny sunglasses, a burst of colour from a cap — the look was casual, nostalgic, stylish but never trying too hard.

Here, in the late-summer light of Komazawa Park, our world began to take shape.
